Ketoadd Tablet is a nutrition-support medicine used in the conservative management of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in adults. It helps supply essential amino acids while reducing the build-up of nitrogenous waste products in the blood, helping delay the progression of kidney failure when combined with a low-protein diet.
It contains ketoanalogues of amino acids along with essential amino acids. Take the tablets during meals as prescribed, as this helps proper absorption and utilisation of amino acids. Do not alter your dose or stop taking the medicine without medical guidance, as continuous use is necessary to maintain metabolic balance.
Strict adherence to a specialised diet is essential alongside this medicine. Follow your dietitian's guidance regarding a low-protein diet, along with controlled intake of fluid, sodium, potassium, and phosphate.
Before using this medicine, inform your doctor if you have high blood calcium levels (hypercalcaemia) or disrupted amino acid metabolism. Your doctor may monitor your blood calcium levels and kidney function periodically during treatment. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
