It contains cetirizine, a second-generation antihistamine that blocks the action of histamine, the chemical in the body responsible for allergy symptoms. It causes less drowsiness than some older antihistamines, though it may still cause drowsiness in some people. Take it as prescribed by your doctor, with or without food.
