These peptides help relax blood vessels, increase sodium and water excretion and reduce strain on the heart. By inhibiting neprilysin, sacubitril increases the levels of these beneficial peptides.

• Valsartan (51 mg): As an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), valsartan works by blocking the action of angiotensin II. This hormone causes blood vessels to narrow and increases blood pressure and fluid retention.
