It contains S-amlodipine (levamlodipine), the active isomer of the amlodipine molecule. It works by relaxing the smooth muscles of the blood vessels, allowing them to widen and making it easier for blood to flow through, often with a lower risk of ankle swelling than standard amlodipine. Take it as prescribed at the same time, with or without food.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying physically active within your limits, keeping to a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol support blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
