Zava Tablet is used in adults with type 2 diabetes to control blood sugar when diet and exercise alone are not enough.

Uses of Zava Tablet are:

• Type 2 Diabetes: Helps control blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes.
• Complication Prevention: Better blood sugar control helps reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney damage, nerve problems, and eye issues.

Here's how to take Zava Tablet correctly:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Avoid crushing or chewing it.

• You can take Zava Tablet with or without food.

• Always follow your doctor's instructions on how and when to take this medicine.

• Do not take more than the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• It's important not to stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor first.

Zava Tablet is taken orally.

Zava Tablet contains a single active ingredient: Vildagliptin (50 mg). Here's how it works:

• DPP-4 Inhibition: Vildagliptin inhibits an enzyme in your body called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4). This enzyme is responsible for breaking down certain hormones called incretins.

• Increased Incretin Levels: By inhibiting DPP-4, vildagliptin increases levels of these incretin hormones in your body. These hormones include glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP).

• Insulin Secretion and Glucagon Release: The increased levels of active incretin hormones stimulate insulin production and reduce glucagon release in response to high blood sugar levels. Insulin helps cells absorb sugar from your blood, while reduced glucagon prevents your liver from making too much sugar.

• Improved Glycemic Control: Through these mechanisms, vildagliptin helps to regulate your blood sugar levels and improve control over your diabetes.

• Store Zava Tablet in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• The ideal storage temperature is room temperature, approximately 20 to 25°C.

• Keep the medicine in its original packaging until it's time to take it.

• Always keep Zava Tablet out of sight and reach of children.

• Remember to use the medicine before the expiry date mentioned on the pack.

• To help manage your type 2 diabetes, maintain a healthy diet with a good balance of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. Limit your intake of sugary foods and drinks as they can cause your blood sugar levels to rise rapidly.

• Regular exercise is beneficial. Engaging in physical activities like walking, swimming or cycling for at least 30 minutes a day can help you manage your blood sugar levels effectively alongside taking your Zava Tablet.
