The uses of Yasmin Tablet are as follows:

• Contraception: It is used as a contraceptive to prevent pregnancy.
• Regulating menstrual cycles: This tablet is used to regulate their menstrual cycles, making periods more predictable and less painful.
• Treatment of acne: Yasmin Tablet and other combination birth control pills are sometimes prescribed to help manage acne in individuals. The hormones in the pill can regulate hormonal imbalances that contribute to acne.
• Management of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS): In some cases, birth control pills like this tablet are used to manage the symptoms of PCOS, such as irregular periods and excessive hair growth.
• Endometriosis: Birth control pills may be used to help reduce the symptoms of endometriosis, a condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, causing pain and irregular bleeding.

Here are some important directions to follow when taking this medication:

• Take the prescribed dose of a tablet daily, preferably at the same time each day.
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. 
• Do not crush or chew the tablet.
• Take the tablet with or without food.

Yasmin Tablet contains the following active components:

• Drospirenone (3 mg): It is a synthetic progestin component in this medication. It functions by mimicking the actions of natural progesterone. Drospirenone primarily exerts its contraceptive effect by suppressing ovulation, preventing the release of mature eggs from the ovaries. This mechanism inhibits fertilisation by sperm. Additionally, drospirenone alters the cervical mucus, making it thicker and less permeable to sperm, hindering their ability to reach and fertilize the egg. Furthermore, it modifies the uterine lining, making it less receptive to implantation by a fertilized egg, should fertilization occur. 
• Ethinyl estradiol (0.03 mg): It is a synthetic estrogen component in this medication. It works synergistically with drospirenone to provide contraceptive efficacy. Ethinyl estradiol primarily functions by suppressing the release of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) from the pituitary gland, which in turn inhibits the development and maturation of follicles in the ovaries. This helps prevent the release of mature eggs during the menstrual cycle, complementing the ovulation-inhibiting action of drospirenone.

• Store the medication at room temperature below 30ºC).
