Glucobay 25 Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes by slowing the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in the small intestine. This helps prevent blood glucose levels from rising too high after meals.
It contains acarbose, an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor. Take it with the first bite of each main meal, as prescribed. Continue taking it regularly along with your prescribed diet and exercise plan, even if your blood sugar levels appear well controlled.
Following a controlled-carbohydrate diet, eating meals at regular times, staying physically active, and monitoring your blood sugar as advised all help alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any bowel or digestive disorders, liver or kidney problems, or are taking other diabetes medicines. If you experience low blood sugar while on this medicine, treat it with glucose and not table sugar, as this medicine affects how other sugars are absorbed.
