CompositionKerendia 10 Tablet is used to slow the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing finerenone, and belongs to a class of medicines called non-steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists.
This medicine helps lower the risk of kidney failure, heart attacks and hospitalisation for heart failure. Take it with or without food as prescribed. Your doctor will arrange regular blood tests to monitor your potassium levels and kidney function. Use the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.
Following your prescribed diabetic diet, limiting potassium-rich salt substitutes as advised, maintaining good blood pressure control, attending all lab tests and avoiding grapefruit and grapefruit juice support kidney protection alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor if you have high blood potassium levels, severe kidney failure or adrenal problems before starting this medicine, and about any other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Speak to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Inform your doctor right away if you notice muscle weakness, an irregular heartbeat or unusual tiredness, and report any side effects that persist or become serious. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
