Diane 35 Tablet is used to treat moderate to severe acne linked to androgen sensitivity, and hirsutism (excess facial or body hair), in women of reproductive age. It contains cyproterone acetate, an anti-androgen, and ethinyl estradiol, an oestrogen, and may also be used in women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) who have these symptoms.
Cyproterone works by blocking the effects of male hormones, while ethinyl estradiol helps regulate the menstrual cycle and reduce oil production in the skin. Take the tablet as prescribed by your doctor, at the same time each day, followed by the recommended tablet-free break.
Since this medicine also acts as a contraceptive, continue using barrier protection if advised until it becomes fully effective. Regular check-ups with your gynaecologist are recommended, along with routine blood pressure monitoring while taking this medicine.
Tell your doctor if you have a history of blood clots, high blood pressure, migraine with aura, or if you smoke, before starting treatment. Seek medical advice promptly if you notice leg pain and swelling, sudden breathlessness, or significant mood changes during treatment.
