Urotone 25 Tablet is used to treat urinary retention and neurogenic bladder in adults, including difficulty passing urine after surgery. It contains bethanechol, a medicine that stimulates the bladder muscle to help restore normal urinary flow.
Take this tablet as prescribed, usually on an empty stomach, as food can reduce its effect and increase stomach upset. Continue taking it for as long as your doctor recommends, and attend all follow-up appointments so your bladder function can be monitored.
Drinking adequate fluids through the day and trying to empty your bladder at regular intervals can help support the medicine's effect on urinary flow. Keep a note of any difficulty or discomfort while passing urine to discuss with your doctor.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have asthma, low blood pressure, coronary artery disease, a peptic ulcer, epilepsy or thyroid problems. Report difficulty breathing, severe stomach pain, heavy sweating or a very slow heartbeat straight away.
