About Leucorin Tablet 10

Leucorin Tablet is used during cancer treatment to protect healthy cells from the harmful effects of high-dose methotrexate, to treat accidental methotrexate overdose, and to improve the effect of certain chemotherapy.

It contains leucovorin (folinic acid), an active form of folate. While methotrexate blocks the body's use of folate, leucovorin gives healthy cells an alternative source of folate so they can recover. Take it exactly at the times your oncologist prescribes, as the timing is important, with or without food.

Drinking plenty of fluids helps the kidneys clear methotrexate from the body alongside this medicine. Attend all scheduled blood tests and check-ups.

Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about your full treatment plan and any kidney problems. Tell your doctor straight away if you have severe vomiting, as you may need the medicine by injection instead. Report severe mouth sores, signs of infection, or unusual tiredness promptly.
