Urotone DS Tablet is used for managing urinary retention after surgeries or general anaesthesia. It is also effective for handling postpartum urinary retention post-childbirth and addressing urinary retention due to medications with anticholinergic properties. Additionally, it helps manage neurogenic bladder disorders caused by issues with the brain, spinal cord, or nerves.

Here are some instructions for taking Urotone DS Tablet:

• Take this medicine with a glass of water.

• Swallow the tablet whole, without crushing or chewing it.

• Follow your doctor's advice on when and how often to take this tablet.

• Don't stop using this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Urotone DS Tablet is taken orally.

Urotone DS Tablet contains bethanechol (50 mg), which has the following effects on your body:

• Activates Muscarinic Receptors: Bethanechol works by activating muscarinic receptors located in the detrusor muscle of your bladder. The detrusor muscle is responsible for pushing out urine from your bladder.

• Strengthens Bladder Contractions: By activating these receptors, bethanechol strengthens the contractions of the bladder muscle, enabling it to push out urine more effectively and overcome urinary retention.

• Increases Gastric Motility: Another effect of bethanechol is that it increases the tone and movement of your stomach and intestines. It helps restore impaired peristalsis the wavelike contractions that help move food through your digestive tract.

• Store Urotone DS Tablet at room temperature, ideally not exceeding 25°C.

• Protect the medicine from light and moisture.

• Keep it in its original packaging until immediately before use.

• Always keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Be sure to use Urotone DS Tablet before its expiry date.

• If you're experiencing urinary retention symptoms, try to incorporate bladder-friendly foods into your diet. This includes fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Avoid spicy, acidic or caffeinated foods that can irritate the bladder.

• Regular physical activity can help maintain a healthy bladder function. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise like walking or swimming daily. However, remember to consult your doctor before starting any new exercise regimen.
