Floricot 100 mcg Tablet is used in adults with adrenal insufficiency to replace the missing mineralocorticoid hormone and maintain normal salt, water, and electrolyte balance.

Uses of Floricot 100 mcg Tablet are:

• Addison's Disease: Replaces the missing mineralocorticoid hormone in people with adrenal insufficiency.
• Electrolyte Balance: Helps the kidneys retain salt and water to maintain normal blood pressure and sodium levels.
• Orthostatic Hypotension: Manages low blood pressure that occurs when standing up.

Here are some instructions for taking Floricot Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole, with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Follow your doctor's advice about how often to take this medicine.

Floricot Tablet is taken orally.

Floricot Tablet contains fludrocortisone (0.1 mg) which operates in the body as follows:

• Promotes Sodium Retention: Fludrocortisone increases sodium reabsorption in the renal tubules. This action helps maintain the volume and pressure of your blood.

• Excretes Potassium: This medicine promotes the excretion of potassium from your body.

• Anti-Inflammatory and Immunosuppressive Effects: In addition to its primary function, fludrocortisone exhibits some glucocorticoid activity which contributes to its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive impacts.

• Store Floricot Tablet at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

• Keep the medicine away from light and moisture to maintain its efficacy.

• Ensure it is stored in a place inaccessible to children for safety.

• Always check the expiry date before use, and never use it beyond that date.

• If you have Addison's disease or salt-losing adrenogenital syndrome, increase your intake of sodium-rich foods like olives, canned soup, or beetroot to offset sodium loss.

• Try to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day. This helps maintain the fluid balance in your body, especially if you are taking Floricot Tablet for orthostatic hypotension (a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing).
