• Decreasing Cholesterol Absorption: Ursodeoxycholic acid decreases intestinal absorption of cholesterol, leading to reduced biliary cholesterol saturation.
• Dissolving Gallstones: By increasing the solubility of cholesterol in bile, ursodeoxycholic acid helps dissolve existing gallstones.
