Hepakind 300 Tablet is a medicine used to dissolve small, cholesterol-rich gallstones in patients who cannot undergo surgery. It is also used to manage primary biliary cholangitis, a chronic liver disorder affecting the bile ducts.
It contains ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), a naturally occurring bile acid that helps break down cholesterol in gallstones and improves bile flow. Take it with food or milk as prescribed. Gallstone dissolution takes time, so continue taking the medicine regularly for as long as your doctor advises.
Adhering to your prescribed routine and keeping all scheduled monitoring appointments support your treatment. Maintaining a balanced diet low in saturated fats and staying well hydrated also help support gallbladder and liver health.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have a complete gallbladder or bile duct blockage, frequent gallbladder pain, or inflammatory bowel disease. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Report worsening stomach pain, fever, or yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice) right away.
