Ubexa 40 Tablet is used for the long-term management of gout in adults by lowering uric acid levels, helping to prevent recurrent gout attacks and joint damage.
It contains febuxostat (40 mg), a xanthine oxidase inhibitor. Take it as prescribed; continue even if a gout attack occurs. Do not start this medicine during an acute gout attack.
Staying well hydrated, limiting alcohol and purine-rich foods and keeping to all monitoring appointments for uric acid and liver function support effective treatment alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any history of cardiovascular disease, kidney or liver problems before starting. A temporary increase in gout attacks is common when starting febuxostat; colchicine or an NSAID may be prescribed to prevent this. Report any signs of cardiovascular events (chest pain, shortness of breath) or liver problems.
