Trimzole Ds Tablet 10 is used in the following conditions:

• Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Treats acute and recurrent infections caused by susceptible bacteria
• Respiratory Infections: Effective for conditions like acute bronchitis and otitis media
• Pneumocystis jirovecii Pneumonia (PJP): Used for both prevention and treatment in high-risk individuals
• Toxoplasmosis: Helps manage infections in immunocompromised patients
• Shigellosis: For the treatment of enteritis caused by susceptible strains of Shigella flexneri and Shigella sonnei when antibacterial therapy is indicated
• Traveler’s Diarrhea in Adults: For the treatment of traveler’s diarrhoea due to susceptible strains of enterotoxigenic E. coli

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Take the tablet after meals to minimise stomach upset.
• Follow your doctor’s prescribed dosage and duration of treatment.

Trimzole Ds Tablet 10 contains the following active ingredients:

• Sulphamethoxazole (800 mg): It blocks the production of dihydropteroate synthetase, a key enzyme in the bacterial folate synthesis pathway.
• Trimethoprim (160 mg): It prevents the conversion of dihydrofolic acid to tetrahydrofolic acid, an essential compound for bacterial DNA synthesis.

Together, these mechanisms halt the growth and spread of bacteria, aiding in the elimination of the infection.
