Doxylab Tablet is a medicine used to treat certain bacterial respiratory infections that are accompanied by thick mucus and congestion, such as bronchitis and pneumonia. It helps clear mucus from the airways while treating the underlying bacterial infection, making breathing easier and reducing cough severity.
Doxylab Tablet is a combination medicine that contains an antibiotic and a mucus-thinning agent. It can be taken with or without food, but avoid lying down for at least 30 minutes after taking it to reduce the risk of throat irritation. Complete the full course exactly as prescribed, even if you start to feel better, to make sure the infection clears fully.
Drinking plenty of fluids can help thin mucus further and ease breathing. Avoiding smoking and exposure to dust or strong fumes can also help recovery. Rest is important during a respiratory infection, so reduce strenuous activity until you feel well.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding (this medicine is generally not suitable), are taking other medicines, or have liver or kidney problems. It can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, so use sunscreen and avoid prolonged sun exposure during treatment. Do not take it with milk, dairy products, or antacids at the same time, as these can reduce its absorption.
