Valerate-C Cream is used to treat inflamed fungal skin infections where redness, itching, and irritation are prominent, such as ringworm (tinea corporis), jock itch (tinea cruris), and athlete's foot (tinea pedis).
It combines a corticosteroid with an antifungal medicine, which together help reduce inflammation while treating the underlying fungal infection. Apply a thin layer to the affected area only, as advised by your doctor, and gently rub it in. Continue using it for the full course prescribed, even if your skin starts to look better, to help fully clear the infection.
Keep the affected area clean and dry, wear loose, breathable clothing, and avoid sharing towels or clothing to help prevent the infection from spreading or recurring. This cream is generally meant for short, supervised use rather than long-term application.
Before using this cream, tell your doctor if you have any known skin allergies or are using other skin treatments on the same area. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, and broken or open skin. Tell your doctor if the affected area becomes more irritated, or if there is no improvement after the advised period of use. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use.
