Topirol 50 Tablet is used to control seizures in epilepsy and to prevent migraine headaches in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older. It is a single-ingredient anticonvulsant medicine containing topiramate.
Regular use reduces seizure frequency and lowers the number of migraine days. Take it with or without food in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop it suddenly, as this can cause seizures to increase.
Drink plenty of fluids to lower the risk of kidney stones. Keep a consistent sleep routine, avoid alcohol and identify migraine triggers.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, a history of kidney stones or glaucoma, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Seek medical help immediately for sudden eye pain or vision changes. Women who could become pregnant must use effective contraception, as topiramate can harm an unborn baby. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
