CompositionTopitem 50 Mg Tablet 10 is used to manage certain types of seizure disorders, and to prevent migraine in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and above. It belongs to a class of medicines called anticonvulsants (antiepileptic medicines).
This medicine works by calming over active electrical signals in the brain, which helps reduce seizures and migraine attacks. It is not meant to stop a migraine attack that has already started. Take it at the same time each day, with or without food, and swallow the tablet whole with water.
Keeping a regular sleep routine, avoiding alcohol, and noting down triggers such as stress, missed meals, or lack of sleep can help, as these can bring on seizures or migraine. Avoid swimming alone, climbing heights, or using heavy machinery until your doctor confirms that your seizures are controlled.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any other health conditions you have, especially kidney problems, kidney stones, eye problems, or depression or other mood changes, and about all other medicines or supplements you take. Speak to your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It can cause drowsiness and slowed thinking, so be careful when driving. Get urgent medical help for eye pain or sudden changes in vision, severe mood changes or thoughts of self harm, or a severe rash.
