Tenofed 50/20 MG Capsule 10 is used to control high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. It is also used to manage chronic stable angina (chest pain from reduced blood flow to the heart). It is for long-term control and is not used for sudden angina attacks.
It combines a beta-blocker (which slows the heart rate and eases its workload) and a calcium channel blocker (which relaxes the blood vessels). Take it daily as prescribed, and do not stop it suddenly, as the beta-blocker part should be reduced gradually.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying active within your doctor's advice, keeping to a healthy weight and quitting smoking support better blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any asthma, a very slow heart rate, heart failure, or kidney or liver problems before starting, and about other medicines you take. Report a very slow heartbeat, marked breathlessness, ankle swelling or dizziness.
