Telma-D Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing essential hypertension

• Helping prevent heart attacks

• Preventing strokes

• Avoiding kidney damage

Follow these instructions while taking Telma-D Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• Remember, it's important not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Telma-D Tablet is taken orally.

Telma-D Tablet is composed of two active ingredients:

• Telmisartan (40 mg): As an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), telmisartan works by selectively attaching to AT1 receptors in various tissues. This means that it blocks the effects of angiotensin II, a hormone that can narrow your blood vessels and release another hormone that increases the amount of salt and water your body retains. By blocking these effects, telmisartan helps to relax and widen your blood vessels and reduce the amount of water reabsorbed by the kidneys, thereby lowering blood pressure.

• Indapamide (1.5 mg): This ingredient is a thiazide-like diuretic, which means it helps your kidneys get rid of excess water and salt in your body. By increasing the excretion of sodium, chloride, and water, indapamide reduces the volume of blood that your heart has to pump and decreases the resistance in your blood vessels. This results in lowered blood pressure.

• Keep your Telma-D Tablet in its original packaging to protect it from light and moisture.

• Store at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Ensure the medicine is safely out of the reach of children.

• Always check the expiry date on the pack before taking a dose, never use past this date.

• To assist with managing high blood pressure, try reducing your intake of salt. This can help lower your body's fluid volume, and thus the pressure in your blood vessels.
