Telma-CT 80/6.25 Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of essential hypertension or high blood pressure

• Reduction of risk for fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events such as strokes and heart attacks

• Alleviation of fluid retention and swelling (oedema) associated with conditions like heart failure, liver cirrhosis, and kidney disease

Telma-CT 80/6.25 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Chlorthalidone (6.25 mg): This compound is a diuretic, which means it helps your kidneys get rid of extra salt and water from your body. As a result, it reduces fluid overload and decreases the volume of blood, thereby lowering blood pressure.

• Telmisartan (80 mg): This ingredient is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It blocks a hormone in your body called angiotensin II from binding to receptors on your blood vessels. This action prevents the hormone's effects that tend to narrow or constrict blood vessels. With telmisartan blocking these effects, your blood vessels can relax and widen, enabling blood to flow more easily and thus reducing your blood pressure.
