Teicoplanin (400 Mg)

Targocid 400 mg Injection is a glycopeptide antibiotic used to treat serious Gram-positive bacterial infections, including infections caused by methicillin-resistant bacteria. It is used to treat bloodstream infections (septicaemia), endocarditis, bone and joint infections, pneumonia, and severe skin and soft tissue infections.

It contains teicoplanin. Teicoplanin works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. This medicine is administered by slow intravenous injection, intravenous infusion, or intramuscular injection under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

Complete the full prescribed treatment course to help prevent antibiotic resistance.

Inform your doctor if you have kidney impairment, hearing problems, or known allergies to glycopeptide antibiotics. Periodic kidney function tests and blood counts may be performed during treatment. Consult your doctor before using this medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Uses of Targocid 400 mg Injection are:

Severe Respiratory & Blood Infections: Treats hospital-acquired pneumonia, septicaemia, and endocarditis caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria.
Bone, Joint & Skin Infections: Treats bacterial infections of the bones, joints, and skin and soft tissues.
Peritonitis in Patients Receiving Peritoneal Dialysis: Treats peritonitis associated with continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD).

This medicine must only be administered by a doctor in a hospital setting.
This injection is given either intramuscularly or intravenously.
It's essential to complete the entire course of this medicine as prescribed, even if your symptoms improve.
