Sitazit D 50mg/5mg Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Management of type 2 diabetes in adults

• Enhancing the action of insulin in adults with type 2 diabetes

• Helping to lower blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes

• Reducing the release of glucagon, a hormone that raises blood sugar levels, in adults with type 2 diabetes

• Greater control of blood sugar levels when used as part of a comprehensive diabetes treatment plan

• Swallow one tablet whole with a glass of water.

• You can take this medicine with or without food as per your comfort.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Never exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• If you wish to stop taking this medicine, discuss it with your doctor first.

Sitazit D 50mg/5mg Tablet 10 is composed of two active ingredients:

• Dapagliflozin (5 mg): This ingredient belongs to a class of medicines known as sodium/glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors. Its function is to block the reabsorption of glucose in your kidneys, leading to an increase in glucose excretion through urine. This helps lower blood sugar levels.

• Sitagliptin (50 mg): Classified as a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP4) inhibitor, sitagliptin slows down the inactivation of incretin hormones that are released after meals. This action results in increased insulin secretion from the pancreas and decreased release of glucagon, a hormone that raises blood sugar levels. The combined effect helps improve blood sugar control.
