Oxra-S 5/50 Tablet is used in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to help control blood sugar levels, particularly when diet, exercise and other diabetes medicines have not been sufficient on their own.

Here's how you should take Oxra-S 5/50 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid splitting, crushing, or chewing the tablet.

• Try to take your dose at roughly the same time each day to maintain consistent medicine levels.

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's nearly time for your next one, just skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Never double up doses.

• Always consult your doctor for specific advice regarding dosage and duration of usage.

Oxra-S 5/50 Tablet comprises two active ingredients:

• Dapagliflozin (5 mg): As a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, dapagliflozin works by reducing the reabsorption of glucose in your kidneys. It achieves this by blocking SGLT2, the main protein responsible for glucose reabsorption from the kidney filters. This action leads to an increase in glucose excretion through urine.

• Sitagliptin (50 mg): Classified as a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, sitagliptin slows down the breakdown of incretin hormones which play a key role in regulating blood sugar levels. By inhibiting DPP-4, sitagliptin increases these hormone levels in your blood, leading to enhanced insulin production after meals and reduced glucagon secretion from your pancreas when your body doesn't need it. Both these actions help in maintaining blood sugar balance.

• Keep your Oxra-S 5/50 Tablet in the original packaging to protect it from moisture and light.

• Store it at room temperature, ideally between 20°C and 25°C.
