Sitahenz-M 500 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Metformin (500 mg): This biguanide antidiabetic agent works by reducing glucose production in the liver, decreasing the absorption of glucose in the intestines, and increasing glucose uptake and usage in your body's periphery. This multi-pronged approach helps improve insulin sensitivity, thereby managing blood sugar levels.
• Sitagliptin (50 mg): This is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. It slows the inactivation of incretin hormones GLP-1 and GIP, leading to an increase and prolongation of their action. This stimulates insulin synthesis and release from pancreatic beta cells in a glucose-dependent manner.
