Lanum Tablet is used for the following:

• Controlling high phosphate levels in kidney disease

• Managing end-stage kidney disease complications

• Preventing bone disorders in dialysis patients

• Reducing calcium-phosphate deposits in blood vessels

• Lowering serum phosphorus in dialysis patients

• Preventing soft tissue calcification

• Balancing mineral levels during kidney failure

• Supporting bone health in kidney patients

Follow these instructions while taking Lanum Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Continue taking this medicine regularly for the best results.

• If you miss a dose, take it with your next meal.

• Consult your doctor if you have questions about using this medicine.

Lanum Tablet is taken orally.

Lanum Tablet contains calcium acetate (667 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Phosphate Binding Action: Calcium acetate works by attaching to phosphate from food in your digestive system, forming an insoluble compound that cannot be absorbed into your bloodstream.

• Excretion Enhancement: The calcium-phosphate compounds formed in your digestive tract are then eliminated from your body through faeces, effectively reducing the amount of phosphate that would otherwise enter your bloodstream.

• Serum Phosphorus Reduction: Calcium acetate helps lower the overall levels of phosphate in the blood by preventing phosphate absorption. This is particularly important for people whose kidneys cannot effectively remove excess phosphate.

• Store Lanum Tablet at room temperature (not exceeding 30°C).

• Keep away from direct light, heat, and moisture.

• Store in the original packaging until ready to use.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Discard any unused medicine properly.

• Limit phosphate-rich foods: Reduce intake of dairy products, nuts, and processed foods as these contain high phosphate levels, which can worsen hyperphosphataemia (high phosphate levels in the blood).

• Maintain fluid balance: Follow your doctor's recommendations about daily fluid intake, as proper hydration helps your kidneys function better while managing end-stage kidney disease.
