Sensiclav-DS Dry Syrup is used in children for the treatment of bacterial infections across several parts of the body, including more serious infections when prescribed by a doctor.

Uses of Sensiclav-DS Dry Syrup are:

• Respiratory Tract Infections: Treats infections such as pneumonia and bronchitis.
• Ear, Nose and Throat Infections: Manages conditions such as otitis media, sinusitis and tonsillitis.
• Urinary and Genital Infections: Treats infections of the urinary tract and genital area.
• Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Manages bacterial infections affecting the skin.

To give Sensiclav-DS Dry Syrup to your child, follow these steps:

• Add 30 ml sterile water to the bottle to reconstitute the dry syrup.

• Ensure the bottle is shaken well before each use.

• This medicine can be given with or without food as prescribed by the doctor.

• This medicine is sugar-based. If your child has diabetes, consult your doctor before giving this medicine.

• Always consult your doctor for specific advice regarding its use.

Sensiclav-DS Dry Syrup is given orally.

Sensiclav-DS Dry Syrup contains two active ingredients that work together:

• Amoxycillin (400 mg): Amoxicillin is a type of antibiotic known as a penicillin. It fights infection by stopping the growth of bacteria causing the infection. It does this by binding to proteins inside bacterial cells, activating enzymes that break down the cell wall. This causes the bacteria to burst open and die.

• Clavulanic Acid (57 mg): Clavulanic acid works by blocking an enzyme produced by certain types of resistant bacteria. These enzymes, known as beta-lactamases, would normally break down amoxicillin before it can kill off all of the bacteria. By inhibiting these enzymes, clavulanic acid allows amoxicillin to get on with its job of killing the bacteria.

• Store the unopened Sensiclav-DS Dry Syrup in a cool, dry place at a temperature below 25°C.

• Once the syrup is prepared, keep it refrigerated and use it within 10 days.

• Keep the medicine securely capped and away from light.

• Ensure it's stored out of reach of children.

• To support your child's recovery from bacterial infections, ensure they consume a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals. Foods high in vitamin C, like oranges and strawberries, can help boost their immune system.
