Advent Forte Syrup is used to treat bacterial infections in various parts of the body, including the ear, nose, throat, lungs, skin, teeth, and urinary tract. It is particularly useful for antibiotic-resistant infections (e.g., certain tuberculosis strains) and helps with skin infections and inflammation caused by bacterial tonsillitis. This combination (Amoxicillin + Clavulanic Acid) is a broad-spectrum penicillin.

• First, shake the bottle to loosen the powder.
• Add the sterile water provided with the pack to the powder and shake vigorously.
• Use the provided measuring spoon to measure out the correct dose of the syrup.
• Ensure you shake well before each use.
• This medicine is sugar-based and requires caution if your child has diabetes. Consult your doctor before giving this medicine to a diabetic child.
• Always remember that even if your child feels better, complete the full course as directed by your doctor to prevent relapse.

Advent Forte Syrup is given orally.

Advent Forte Syrup contains two active ingredients:

• Amoxicillin (400 mg): This is a semisynthetic beta-lactam antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. It binds to penicillin-binding proteins in bacterial cell walls, which disrupts the peptidoglycan layer, leading to cell lysis and the death of susceptible bacteria.
• Clavulanic acid (57 mg): Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor with little antimicrobial activity of its own. However, it neutralises certain beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria that could otherwise destroy amoxicillin. This protection extends the antibiotic effect of amoxicillin to cover many beta-lactamase producing pathogens.

• Store Advent Forte Syrup at room temperature.
• Keep the medicine in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Always ensure the bottle is tightly sealed after each use.
• Keep Advent Forte Syrup out of reach of children for safety.
• Use Advent Forte Syrup before the expiry date mentioned on the bottle.

• If your child is taking Advent Forte Syrup for a respiratory tract infection, ensure they stay in a clean and dust-free environment to avoid further irritation to their respiratory system.
• Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids. This will help flush out toxins and bacteria from their urinary tract if they are taking Advent Forte Syrup for a urinary tract infection.
