Advent Forte Syrup is a paediatric antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections affecting the ear, sinuses, respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, soft tissues, abdomen and genital tract in children.
It contains a combination of amoxicillin, a penicillin-type antibiotic, and clavulanic acid, which helps prevent bacteria from breaking down the amoxicillin, allowing it to work against resistant bacteria. Shake the bottle well before each dose, and measure the prescribed amount using the syringe or cup provided. Complete the full course, even if your child appears to feel better, to prevent the infection returning.
Giving the syrup with food may help reduce the chance of an upset stomach, and offering plenty of fluids can support your child's recovery during the course of treatment.
Tell your doctor if your child has had an allergic reaction to penicillin antibiotics before starting this syrup, and mention any other medicines they are taking. Report a severe skin rash, swelling or difficulty breathing to your doctor immediately.
