Pecef Duo 200 Tablet 10 is a combination antibiotic medicine used to treat acute bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, urinary system, ear, nose, throat, skin, and soft tissues in adults. It is especially useful for infections caused by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria that are resistant to standard single antibiotics.
It contains cefpodoxime proxetil, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that prevents bacterial cell wall formation, and clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects cefpodoxime from bacterial enzyme inactivation. Take it with or immediately after meals as prescribed to maximise absorption and reduce stomach upset. Complete the full prescribed course of antibiotics to ensure eradication of the infection and prevent antibiotic resistance.
Supporting your body during an infection involves practical care measures. Drink plenty of water and clear fluids to remain hydrated, get adequate restful sleep, practise thorough hand hygiene, and avoid skipping doses or saving leftover medication for future illnesses.
Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have a known allergy to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics, or if you have a history of kidney disease, colitis, or liver problems. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop severe watery diarrhoea, skin rash, swelling of the face, or breathing difficulty during treatment.
