Ondero Met-OD 500mg is used for the following:

• Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults

• Supporting treatment when lifestyle changes alone aren't effective

Follow these instructions while taking Ondero Met-OD 500mg:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Take this medicine daily, preferably with meals.

• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet.

• Take this medicine at the same time each day for the best results.

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it's nearly time for your next dose.

• Never take a double dose to make up for a forgotten tablet.

Ondero Met-OD 500mg is taken orally.

Ondero Met-OD 500mg contains two active ingredients:

• Linagliptin (5 mg): This component works as a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, blocking an enzyme that breaks down incretin hormones in your body. This action increases insulin release after meals and reduces the amount of glucose produced by your liver.

• Metformin (500 mg): As a biguanide, metformin reduces glucose production in your liver, a process called hepatic gluconeogenesis. It also delays glucose absorption from your intestines and improves how your body responds to insulin, making your cells more sensitive to insulin's effects.

• Store Ondero Met-OD 500mg at room temperature (below 30°C).

• Keep the tablet in its original packaging, away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Ensure the container remains tightly closed after use.

• Store out of reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Dispose of unused tablets according to local waste guidelines.

• Monitor your carbohydrate intake carefully and choose complex carbohydrates (like whole grains and vegetables) over simple sugars to help maintain steady blood glucose (sugar) levels throughout the day.

• Engage in regular physical activity for at least 30 minutes daily, such as brisk walking or swimming, as exercise improves insulin sensitivity and helps your body use glucose more effectively.
