OLEPTAL OD 600 Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Treatment of epilepsy in adults

• Management of partial seizures

• Control of seizures when used alone

• Adjunctive therapy with other antiepileptic medicines

• Prevention of seizure recurrence in epilepsy

Follow these instructions while taking OLEPTAL OD 600 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet, as it is a sustained-release formulation.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Try to take it at the same time each day for the best effect.

OLEPTAL OD 600 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

OLEPTAL OD 600 Tablet 10 contains oxcarbazepine (600 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Stabilises Nerve Cells: Oxcarbazepine works by stabilising overexcited nerve cells in your brain that can trigger seizures.

• Blocks Sodium Channels: It blocks voltage-gated sodium channels in your brain, which helps prevent the rapid and excessive firing of nerve cells that lead to seizures.

• Modulates Ion Conductance: Oxcarbazepine alters the movement of potassium and calcium ions across cell membranes, which further helps in reducing abnormal electrical activity in the brain.

• Reduces Abnormal Brain Activity: By controlling the electrical impulses in the brain, oxcarbazepine decreases the frequency and severity of seizures, helping you maintain normal daily activities.

• Store at room temperature.

• Keep in a dry place, protected from direct light and moisture.

• Store in the original packaging until ready to use.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the package.
