Mucaryl Ax Plus Expectorant 100ml contains the following components:

• Ambroxol (15 mg): Ambroxol works by stimulating serous gland cells in the respiratory tract to increase the production of thinner mucus while reducing the viscosity of thick bronchial secretions. It also enhances the activity of ciliary movement (tiny hair-like structures lining the airways), which helps transport mucus upward toward the throat for easier expulsion. Additionally, ambroxol promotes pulmonary surfactant production, which reduces mucus adhesion to airway walls, further supporting mucus clearance.
• Ammonium Chloride (100 mg): Ammonium chloride acts as an expectorant by mildly irritating the gastric mucosa after oral intake, which reflexively increases respiratory tract secretions and helps make mucus thinner and easier to cough out.
• Guaifenesin (50 mg): Guaifenesin works primarily through a reflex mechanism by mildly irritating the gastric mucosa after oral intake. This triggers vagally mediated reflex stimulation of respiratory tract glands, increasing the volume and reducing the viscosity of bronchial secretions. As a result, mucus becomes less thick and can be cleared more efficiently by coughing.
• Terbutaline (1.25 mg): Terbutaline is a selective β2-adrenergic receptor agonist that stimulates β2 receptors in bronchial smooth muscle. Activation of these receptors increases intracellular cyclic AMP (cAMP), leading to smooth muscle relaxation and bronchodilation.
