Mox 250 mg Capsule is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in the throat, ears, sinuses, lungs, urinary tract, and skin. It is also effective in managing typhoid fever and helping eradicate H. pylori bacteria in peptic ulcer disease.
It contains amoxicillin 250mg, a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic that kills bacteria by interfering with the synthesis of their protective cell walls. This prevents the bacteria from surviving and multiplying, allowing the body's immune system to clear the infection.
Take the capsule as prescribed, with or without food. Complete the full course of treatment even if you begin to feel better, as stopping early can allow the infection to return and bacteria to develop resistance.
Nausea and diarrhoea are the most common effects and usually settle during the course. Tell your doctor if you have a known allergy to penicillin or any cephalosporin antibiotics, as cross-reactivity can occur.
