Montek FX Tablet is used to manage allergic conditions including allergic rhinitis (hay fever), chronic urticaria (hives) and allergy-related airway inflammation. It helps relieve sneezing, a runny or blocked nose, itching, watery eyes, skin rashes and nasal congestion.
It contains fexofenadine, a non-sedating antihistamine, and montelukast, which helps reduce inflammation in the airways. Take it as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day. Continue taking it for the full course recommended by your doctor, even when symptoms are well controlled.
Avoiding known allergy triggers such as pollen, dust, pet dander and mould can help maximise the benefit of this medicine. Keeping windows closed during high pollen season and using air purifiers indoors may also help.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, or are taking other medicines. Inform your doctor promptly if you or a family member notices any changes in mood or behaviour, unusual thoughts, or sleep disturbances. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should seek medical advice before use. Montelukast can cause serious mood or behaviour changes; for allergic rhinitis it is generally reserved for people who do not respond to or cannot tolerate alternative treatments.
