Montek Bl 40 Tablet 10

Montek BL 40 Tablet is used to relieve allergic rhinitis and hay fever symptoms, and may help prevent allergy-related asthma symptoms when prescribed by your doctor as part of ongoing allergy management.

Uses of Montek BL 40 Tablet are:

• Allergic Rhinitis: Manages sneezing, a runny nose, and nasal congestion caused by seasonal allergies.
• Asthma Symptom Prevention: Helps prevent allergy-related asthma symptoms when prescribed by your doctor.

• Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water.
• Do not crush or chew the tablet, as this may affect the way the medication is absorbed in the body.
• It should be taken on an empty stomach (at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after food or fruit juice).
• Do not change your dose of Montek Bl 40 Tablet 10 or take it more often than prescribed.

Montek Bl 40 Tablet 10 is taken orally as a tablet.
 

Montek Bl 40 Tablet 10 contains the following components:

• Bilastine (40 mg): It is an antihistamine that blocks histamine receptors in the body, preventing the binding of histamine, a chemical released during allergic reactions. By inhibiting histamine's effects, bilastine helps reduce sneezing, itching, runny nose, and watery eyes commonly associated with allergic rhinitis. 
• Montelukast (10 mg): It is a leukotriene receptor antagonist. It targets leukotrienes, which are inflammatory compounds released in response to allergens. By blocking the action of leukotrienes, montelukast helps to decrease inflammation in the airways, effectively addressing symptoms like nasal congestion and difficulty breathing associated with allergic rhinitis. 

• Store this medicine at a temperature below 30 ºC.
• Protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep Montek Bl 40 Tablet 10 away from children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date has passed.

• Use a saline nasal spray to rinse irritants and allergens from your nasal passages.
• Minimise exposure to allergens like pollen, dust mites, and pet dander by keeping windows closed, wearing face masks, and maintaining clean living spaces.
• Inhale steam from a bowl of hot water to help clear nasal passages and reduce congestion. Peppermint, eucalyptus, and tea tree essential oils can be used for steam inhalation or diffused to ease congestion.
• Applying a warm compress to your sinuses can help ease pain and pressure.
