Montair AB Tablet is used to manage symptoms of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and allergic rhinitis. It combines montelukast, which blocks chemicals that cause airway swelling, and acebrophylline, a mucolytic and bronchodilator that thins mucus and relaxes the airway muscles for easier breathing.
Take this tablet regularly as prescribed by your doctor, preferably in the evening, and do not stop it suddenly, as this can cause your breathing symptoms to worsen.
This treatment provides relief from persistent wheezing, coughing and chest tightness, and is particularly beneficial for people who need long-term respiratory support.
Tell your doctor about any liver or heart problems before starting. Report any changes in mood or behaviour, unusual thoughts, or worsening breathing symptoms. Because montelukast can cause serious mood or behaviour changes, it is generally reserved for allergic rhinitis when other treatments are ineffective or not tolerated; report any such changes promptly.
