CompositionLasma Ab Tablet 10 is a respiratory medicine used to manage asthma and relieve breathlessness and wheezing, including in chronic bronchitis and emphysema. It is a combination medicine containing acebrophylline (an airway-opening bronchodilator that also helps clear mucus) and montelukast (an anti-allergy medicine that reduces airway swelling), and belongs to a class of medicines called bronchodilator and leukotriene receptor antagonist combinations.
This medicine works by relaxing the muscles around the airways and reducing airway inflammation, which keeps the airways open and eases breathing, while montelukast blocks leukotrienes that cause swelling and allergic symptoms. It also helps reduce nasal congestion linked to respiratory allergies. Take it as prescribed and swallow the tablet whole, usually in the evening.
Avoiding known triggers such as dust, smoke, pollen and cold air, and not smoking, can help you manage breathing symptoms alongside this medicine. It does not relieve a sudden asthma attack, so keep your reliever inhaler with you.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have a history of seizures, liver problems, heart disease, mood problems, or are taking other medicines, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Seek urgent medical help if you notice changes in mood or behaviour, thoughts of self-harm, agitation, or sleep disturbance.
