Milicor 10 MG Injection 10 ML is used for the following:

• Short-term treatment of acute heart failure

• Support for poorly functioning hearts after surgery

• Improvement of cardiac output in heart failure

• Enhancement of heart function when other medicines fail

• Reduction of preload and afterload in heart failure

• This medicine must be administered by a healthcare professional only.

• Your blood pressure, heart rate, and ECG will be monitored during administration.

• The administration will continue until your heart function stabilises.

• Do not attempt to self-administer this medicine.

Milicor 10 MG Injection 10 ML is administered intravenously.

Milicor 10 MG Injection 10 ML contains milrinone (10 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Enhances Myocardial Contractility: Milrinone increases the force of heart muscle contraction, helping a weakened heart pump blood more effectively throughout the body.

• Improves Diastolic Function: This medicine facilitates left ventricular relaxation, allowing the heart chambers to fill more completely with blood between contractions.

• Causes Vasodilation: Milrinone relaxes blood vessels, reducing resistance to blood flow and decreasing the workload on the heart.

• Increases cAMP Levels: It inhibits an enzyme called phosphodiesterase, leading to increased levels of cyclic adenosine monophosphate in cardiac muscle and blood vessels, which improves heart function.

• Store Milicor 10 MG Injection 10 ML at controlled room temperature (not exceeding 25°C).

• Keep the ampoules protected from light.

• Store in the original packaging until ready for use.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.

• Follow a low-salt diet to help manage heart failure symptoms. Reducing sodium intake helps decrease excess water in your body and lowers the workload on your heart.

• Keep track of your daily fluid intake as recommended by your doctor, as excessive fluids can worsen heart failure symptoms and compromise the effectiveness of your medicine.
