Micogel F Ointment is used to treat fungal skin infections such as ringworm, athlete's foot and fungal skin rash where inflammation, redness and itching are also present. It helps clear the infection while easing the associated discomfort.
It contains miconazole, an antifungal, combined with fluocinolone, a corticosteroid, in an ointment base. Apply a thin layer to the affected area as prescribed, and wash your hands before and after application. Continue using it for the full course advised by your doctor, even if the skin appears to have healed, to prevent the infection from returning.
Keeping the affected area clean and dry, wearing loose, breathable cotton clothing, avoiding sharing towels or clothing, and not covering the area with airtight dressings can help the treatment work better and reduce the chance of the infection spreading.
Tell your doctor if you have any known allergy to antifungal or steroid creams, or if you are using other skin treatments. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and broken skin, and report any worsening of the rash, spreading redness, or signs of skin thinning with prolonged use to your doctor.
