CompositionZole F Ointment 15Gm is used to manage fungal skin infections accompanied by inflammation, redness, itching and swelling, when a doctor considers a combination treatment necessary. It is a combination medicine containing fluocinolone acetonide and miconazole. It belongs to the classes of medicines called topical corticosteroids and imidazole antifungals.
This medicine may be prescribed for inflamed fungal skin conditions, such as certain cases of ringworm, athlete's foot, jock itch and cutaneous candidiasis. Miconazole acts against susceptible fungi, while fluocinolone reduces associated inflammation. Apply a thin layer to the affected skin in the amount and for the duration prescribed by your doctor. Because it contains a corticosteroid, it should not be used routinely for uncomplicated fungal infections or continued longer than necessary. Avoid applying it to the face, groin or skin folds unless specifically directed.
Keeping the affected area clean and dry, wearing loose cotton clothing and avoiding sharing towels can help reduce irritation and the spread of fungal infections. These measures should complement prescribed treatment.
Before using this medicine, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, a weakened immune system, untreated bacterial or viral skin infections, broken skin or a history of allergic reactions to topical medicines. Tell your doctor about other medicines or skin preparations you use and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Prolonged or excessive use may cause skin thinning or increase systemic corticosteroid absorption. Report persistent or worsening symptoms and do not extend treatment without medical advice.
