Megaclav 625 Tablet 10 is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections caused by susceptible bacteria. It is a combination medicine containing amoxicillin, a penicillin antibiotic, and clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor.
Clavulanic acid protects amoxicillin from being broken down by certain bacterial enzymes, making the medicine effective against susceptible beta-lactamase-producing bacteria. Take it with food in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and complete the full course even if you start feeling better, to help prevent the infection from returning.
Getting adequate rest and staying well hydrated during treatment support recovery alongside this medicine.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you are allergic to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics, or have liver or kidney problems, and about other medicines you take. Report a severe skin rash, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or persistent or severe loose motions right away, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
