Advent 625mg Tablet 10

Advent 625mg Tablet is used for managing the following conditions:

• Sinusitis, tonsillitis, and pharyngitis, which are ear, nose, and throat infections

• Community-acquired pneumonia and acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis in the lower respiratory tract

• Infections affecting the skin and its structures

• Urinary tract infections

• Dental problems such as periodontal abscesses and acute periodontal infections

• Bone and joint infections

• Genital infections like gonorrhoea, as well as acute uncomplicated genital and urethral infections

When taking Advent 625mg Tablet, ensure you follow these steps:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Always take the Advent 625mg Tablet at the start of a meal to enhance absorption and minimise potential stomach discomfort.

• Ensure you drink adequate fluids while on this medication to prevent crystal formation in your urine.

• Do not exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

Advent 625mg Tablet is taken orally.

Advent 625mg Tablet consists of two key components:

• Amoxicillin (500 mg): This beta-lactam antibiotic works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It does this by binding to and inactivating penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are essential for forming a strong cell wall in bacteria. As a result of this action, the bacterial cell wall weakens and ultimately leads to the death of the bacteria.

• Clavulanic Acid (125 mg): This component acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It binds irreversibly to the active sites of various beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria. By doing so, it shields amoxicillin from being deactivated by these enzymes. Consequently, it extends the antibacterial spectrum to include beta-lactamase-producing strains that would otherwise be resistant to amoxicillin alone.

• Keep the Advent 625mg Tablet in a cool, dry place; ideal storage temperature is below 25°C.

• Shield it from direct sunlight and excess heat.

• Ensure to store it away from moisture.

• Always keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Make sure to use it before the expiry date marked on the package.

• If you're managing respiratory tract infections with Advent 625mg Tablet, try to avoid exposure to smoke and dust as these can aggravate your condition.

• For urinary tract infections, increase your water intake. This helps flush out bacteria from your system and speeds up recovery.
