Maxiflo 250 Inhaler is used for the regular, long-term control of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults. It is a combination medicine containing fluticasone propionate and formoterol fumarate, and belongs to the classes of inhaled corticosteroids and long-acting bronchodilators.
This medicine helps reduce airway inflammation and keeps the airways open, making breathing easier. It is for regular daily use and is not a reliever for sudden attacks, so keep your reliever inhaler with you as advised. Use it with a spacer if your doctor advises this, and rinse your mouth with water after each use. Use the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.
Quitting smoking and keeping up with the vaccinations recommended for your respiratory condition also help alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any heart problems, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, osteoporosis or low potassium levels before using this medicine, and about any other medicines, supplements or herbal products you use. Speak to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if your usual reliever inhaler is needed more often or seems to work less well, and report any side effects that persist or become serious. Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
