Macpod Oral Drops 10ml

Macpod Oral Drops are used in children to manage bacterial infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, sinusitis, ear infections, urinary tract infections, and skin or soft tissue infections. They help control infection, reduce symptoms, and support effective recovery under medical supervision.

Administer Macpod Oral Drops to your child as follows:

• Shake the bottle well to loosen the powder. Use enclosed Sterile water supplied with this pack to reconstitute the powder up to the mark shown on the bottle.
• Discard remaining sterile water.
• Pullout the rubber bulb slightly to facilitate administration.
• Use the provided dropper to measure out the correct dosage.
• The drops can be given with or without food. For infants, you can mix the drops in milk, infant formula or fruit juice for easier administration.
• Consult your doctor for specific advice on how to give this medicine to your child.
• Check the expiry date and only use the drops if they are within the validity period.

Macpod Oral Drops is given orally.

Macpod Oral Drops contain Cefpodoxime Proxetil (25 MG), which works on your child's body as follows:

• Disrupts Bacterial Cell Wall Synthesis: Cefpodoxime Proxetil inhibits the synthesis of the peptidoglycan layer which forms the bacterial cell wall.

• Inactivates Penicillin-Binding Proteins: By binding to and inactivating penicillin-binding proteins involved in cross-linkage of peptidoglycan polymers, it weakens the cell wall.

• Halts Infection Growth: The weakened cell wall causes the bacteria to burst due to osmotic pressure, effectively stopping the infection from growing and spreading in your child's body.

• Store Macpod Oral Drops in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.

• Store at a

  temperature not exceeding 30°C.

• After shaking the bottle, ensure to close it tightly to avoid air exposure.

• Always keep this medicine out of reach of children and pets.

• Encourage your child to drink plenty of water. Staying hydrated can help manage urinary tract infections (UTIs), one of the conditions for which Macpod Oral Drops is prescribed.

• For children suffering from respiratory tract infections like bronchitis or pneumonia, ensure a diet rich in vitamin C. Foods like oranges, strawberries, and kiwi can boost immunity and aid in recovery.
