Macikad Tablet 10

Macikad Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH): This is a serious condition where the pressure in the blood vessels that carry blood from your heart to your lungs is too high.

• Delaying disease progression in PAH: Disease progression includes events like death, hospitalisation due to worsening PAH, starting intravenous or subcutaneous prostanoids (medicines that widen blood vessels), or worsening of PAH symptoms.

• Improving functional status and quality of life in patients with PAH: This refers to enhancing a patient's ability to perform daily activities and improving their overall well-being.

Here are the steps to follow while taking Macikad Tablet:

• You should swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid splitting, crushing, or chewing the tablet.

• You can take this medicine at any time of day, with or without food.

• Always remember not to exceed the dose as advised by your doctor.

Macikad Tablet is taken orally.

Macikad Tablet contains Macitentan (10 mg), which acts on the body in the following ways:

• Blocks Endothelin: Macitentan operates by obstructing the action of endothelin, a substance in the body that narrows blood vessels and raises blood pressure.

• Relaxes and Widens Blood Vessels: By blocking endothelin, Macitentan helps the blood vessels to relax and widen. This action reduces the pressure in the pulmonary arteries, improving blood flow and consequently reducing the workload on the heart.

• Store Macikad Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep this medicine away from light and moisture; store it in the original packaging.

• Be sure to keep it out of reach and sight of children.

• It is important to use your Macikad Tablet before the expiry date printed on the package.

• As Macitentan, the active ingredient in Macikad Tablet, helps manage pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), maintaining a low-salt diet can support this process. High sodium intake can cause water retention, increasing blood pressure and burdening your heart.

• Regular moderate exercise, such as walking or swimming, can improve your cardiovascular health. However, remember not to overexert yourself; always listen to your body's signals.
