Lotepred 1% Eye Drops is used to reduce inflammation in various eye conditions, particularly after eye surgery. It contains loteprednol, a corticosteroid that helps control the inflammatory response in the eye.
It is also used to manage uveitis (inflammation of the middle layer of the eye), redness and swelling caused by eye infections or allergies, dry eye symptoms, and seasonal allergic conjunctivitis (allergic pink eye). Use the drops exactly as directed by your doctor.
Wash your hands before use, avoid touching the dropper tip to your eye or any surface, and wear sunglasses if your eyes feel sensitive to light during treatment.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor if you have glaucoma, cataracts, or any other eye condition, or are using other eye medicines. Contact your doctor if your vision changes, or if you notice increased eye pain, as prolonged use of steroid eye drops can occasionally raise eye pressure.
