Lotel Ophthalmic Gel 5ml

Lotel Gel is used to manage eye inflammation characterized by pain, redness, and swelling. It also relieves watery eyes caused by allergies or infections and alleviates discomfort or soreness from eye irritation.

Here's how you should use Lotel Gel:

• Ensure your hands are clean before using the eye drops.

• Shake the bottle gently before opening it.

• Tilt your head back, look up, and gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

• Hold the bottle close to your eye without touching it. Squeeze gently to instil few into your eye.

• Close your eyes and press gently on the inner corner of your eye with your finger. This prevents the medicine from draining out.

• Wait for at least 5 minutes before using any other eye medication.

• If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using Lotel Gel. You can reinsert them after 15 minutes. Always ask your doctor for advice on correct usage.

Lotel Gel is instilled topically.

Lotel Gel consists of two active ingredients:

• Loteprednol (0.5%): This corticosteroid performs the pivotal role of reducing inflammation in your eyes. It does so by blocking the production of substances which cause inflammation and reversing capillary permeability.

• Benzalkonium chloride (0.003%): This ingredient acts as an antimicrobial preservative. Its mechanism involves disrupting the cell membrane of bacteria, causing leakage of cellular contents and eventually leading to bacterial death. This activity helps prevent infection by inhibiting bacterial growth in your eyes.

• Store Lotel Gel at a temperature below 25°C.

• Keep it in the original container to safeguard it from light and moisture.

• Ensure the medicine is kept out of reach of children.

• If you experience allergic reactions that cause eye inflammation, identify potential allergens in your diet, such as dairy or gluten and consider reducing their intake.

• Limit your exposure to dust, pollen, and other environmental allergens by keeping your surroundings clean, wearing sunglasses outdoors, and avoiding high-pollution areas. This can help manage eye conditions involving inflammation and allergies.
